Update 13 April 2010:
Only 9 songs? I hope there’re more :P Let’s guess the exact date (no push-back again?) and what English songs will be in the 5th album. At first I hope they’ll be unheard English songs but when I carefully read the article again, it’ll be likely the songs that were leaked. *sigh*

I guess the new album’ll drop on 26 June and these songs
- Your Number (You’re Number…)
- No Taking Back (Medium Quality)
- Money Can’t Buy Me Love (song by Teddy of 1TYM)
will be included.

You Got Me Now (feat. Three 6 Mafia) and Scandalous might not appear in the album.

Se7en for Korean comeback in June, “Back showing a different side of him”

Se7en will have his comeback in Korea after 3 years.

Coming June, Se7en will be releasing a new album. This is according to a YG rep on 13th April, “Se7en will release a new album in June. He is currently working on the songs.”

The album is said to contain 9 songs, with 6 new songs and 3 songs released in the States, the rep added, “Se7en will show a new side to him never seen.” With that, this will be his comeback after 3 years and 6 months in Korea after ‘Se7olution’ released in November 2006.

He had his American debut in 2009 with the song ‘Girl’, and this will be his first album after his American activities. Previously, Se7en also guested GDragon’s solo concert.

After his Korean activities, he will also be moving on to promote in Japan.

Having announced his return to the Kpop scene back in February, many have been awaiting for more information regarding the comeback of Se7en.

And much to the delight of his fans, YG Entertainment has announced on the 13th that Se7en will be making a comeback this June with his new album! Recording is still currently being done but the scheduled release date is confirmed for June. According to YG Entertainment, the album will consist of 6 new songs and 3 from his American debut, making it a total of 9.

Se7en had been based in America since his 4th album, Se7olution in 2006 and thus his comeback is highly anticipated by many.

Update 6 Jan 2010: New music by Se7en may be released on March-May 2010.

Along with the solo activities from Big Bang members, YG Entertainment will also push out a new project from Se7en.

Fans are anticipating his return and since he’s been away for such a long time, expectations are high.

An official from YG Entertainment revealed that “Se7en’s new music will not follow the normal trends, but will show a new side of him and of music.”

The date of release has not been announced yet, but for his new project, Se7en will show a more mature and manly side.

In 2009, he began his American campaign and released his English single, Girls. Originally, he intended to release a full English album as well, but the full album was never completed. Se7en eventually returned to Korea just in time to be a special performer for G-Dragon’s solo concert, “Shine a Light.”

Although Se7en was unable to finish his English album, hopefully 2010 will be a better year for him. Over the years, Se7en has shown the industry that he is a versatile artist, able to sing ballads and entertain the audience with a fast upbeat song. What does 2010 hold for Se7en?

Update 24 Oct 09: Add similar news from another source.

Se7en to release new album next year
By Ryu Seung-yoon

Popular singer Se7en has begun recording his new song, which is expected to be released next year.

The 24-year-old star’s agency, YG Entertainment said on Oct. 23, “After Se7en finishes recording, he will unveil the new songs in the early part of next year.

“About the type of record, we haven’t decided yet. It would be either a single, or a mini album,” they added.

It has been almost three years since he was last on the Korean pop scene. For the last couple of years, he devoted his energy to entering the U.S. music market. Se7en finally made his U.S. debut with “Girls,” produced by Dark Child and featuring Lil’ Kim, early this year.

On Oct. 19, the singer posted new pictures on the website, including the autograph of a hero in his life, the late pop legend Michael Jackson.

Singer Se7en is in preparations to make a comeback to the local music scene for the first time since 2006, according to his agency on Tuesday.

“He has recently been recording songs for his next album to be released in Korea,” an official at YG Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone.

The official added that a single could be released ahead of a regular album, although she could not confirm the exact timing. “It will all depend on how good the song is — the comeback may be delayed if the song isn’t good enough,” she explained.

The 24-year-old singer had last released a fourth album in Korea before heading to the United States to expand his career. He released his first English single “Girls” featuring Lil’ Kim in March this year.

Since his debut in 2003, Se7en has enjoyed a successful career not only in Korea but also throughout several countries throughout Asia including Japan, China, Thailand and Taiwan.
